Damn, I miss the sights, sounds, and even smells, of the beautiful Old American Republic. The gestalt of the times was so free and American. Harmonious ear-catching Lucky Strike commercials were just part of the beautiful backdrop of a nation we can't even envision now.
Cruise the turnpike in a tail-finned car, Frank Sinatra on the radio, chrome all around you, Luckys in the shirt pocket, a pretty woman in the passenger's seat, and being an American was first class. Nice while it lasted
