  • Amazing that someone so young could write a slow movement of such power, depth and beauty.

  • Oh! Clara! Clara! .....

  • @Bognarfan grrr you make me envious

  • Hearing Mr. Hough perform this in person at Blossom Music Festival was like a religious experience. It was just magnificent!

  • id have liked the low g at 2.19 be played louder

  • I love the way his hands move around eachother between 7:50 and 8:10.

I don't know whether or not there was a mistake at 2.22 but if you consider the several thousands of notes that he plays during the entire concerto, what difference does one small wrong note make? An almost undetectable mistake is surely insigificant when you consider this magnificent performance as a whole. It just shows that he is a human despite his breathtaking musical skill.

  • Oh, please. I dno't know why I'm even dignifying statements like these with a response, but this has to be said:

There are many depths of latent sorrow, introspection and reflection that transcend amorous thoughts.

  • @longeaton34 He did indeed, although some of this is a bit more passionate than gentle, so perhaps there's something he wasn't telling her, hmm...

I do believe he does. Oh well! This is still wonderful, but I might have liked a longer trill.

  • @Haeronthegreat - Good lord, did he really? Thank you for that. By the way, does Hough make a mistake at 2.22?

  • @longeaton34 Well, he did write her a letter saying it's a 'gentle portrait of you' so it's a fair bet that he did.
