I've got to give this group credit. They have always kept a loyal following. A lot of people appreciate this real down-home, old-timey style of singing.
For a while they had a gentlemen by the name of David England playing for them. He used to own the England Piano in Lawrenceville Ga a few years back. Not sure how long he was with them.
@TammyLBaker Hey...you don't know me but my dad (William Staton) and your dad were cousins. Do you know if there is any way to get any of the old Marksmen on CD? After Momma died, me and my sister got the records she & Daddy had but I would really love CDs since I have no way to play records.
Earl Wheeler is my cousin. And yes they have changed people in the group over the years. There is another song they do on here that has their phone number listed. Check out Grandpa was a farmer (youngin don't forget where you came from). This one has Mark Wheeler (cousin as well) in it.
I absolutley love this group and this song. I was reading below where some family members wrote about them. I am very impressed by everyone in the group but the tenor singer, Sonny Seabolt, is my favorite with his tremendous voice. Does anyone know where to find some of their music from this era or does anyone have any they can post?
The group has changed people, but they are still great! I know that Earl Wheeler is still with them, and now his son,Mark, is with them. Darren Chambers is their bass player, and his daddy, Keith, was with them until a few years ago. He played the mandolin and sang. His voice was fantastic. Mark also sings great, he writes beautiful songs also. My brother and Mark have written some songs together, so I got to spend a good bit of time with him. He is a great talent, he is also a pretty good man.
This is FABULOUS!!! My Daddy is is the tenor singer SONNY SEABOLT and I can totally remember getting up on Sunday mornings and calling my friends to tune in to The Gospel Jubliee on PBS to see MY DAD on television!! Talk about a great memory this video brought back. :-) Just in case you wondered---he can still hit the high ladies notes! Blows the mind! Thanks to who ever posted this! I remember these suits!! What a riot!!!!!!!!!!

Love this old song! Our church likes to have the brass band play this during the offertory.
