@khidak1 I don't remember both being torn down. I remember the one furthest from Cary quad coming down. I also remember later years when they reinforced them, and crowds were disappointed they wouldn't fall, lol. I was told that the goal post ended up in the Wabash, but I didn't see it personally.

I grew up in South Bend and was a freshman at Purdue as this was the first football game of my college career. It couldn't have begun any better! This was the first major Statement that Purdue Football was back on the map after being dormant for decades. Of course we were going to celebrate and go nuts. Don't worry ND, someday when you finally get your act back together and win a big statement game I am sure you will have similar feelings. BTFU!!!

True or false, as the entire Ross-Ade Stadium was flooded with thousands of fans, both goalposts were quickly torn down.
