A thick crust has already formed on the surface, thick enough to take our weight, but also hot enough to boil the water. The glow of liquid lava underneath can be seen through the cracks.

  • @alitamunich2 Whoa! Even not being so hot as the one in the tubes [as it's partially solidified as well...at least the "shell"], 1,000°C, damn!

In this video, the girl wearing shoes...wouldn't it be a bit too hot for her to stay there? I mean, if the temperature is enough to boil water, it certainly is above 100°C [maybe around 120-150°C, I guess?]

  • @alitamunich2 Oh, sorry, in this video the lava ground is not 1000 ºC, I was talking about my other videos where you see the red fluid lava moving down the hill. In this case, you see it was at least 100 ºC, enough to boil the water, but not too much above that.

  • @RangelSotero That kind of lava is about 1000 ºC hot, you can not approach easily at less than, say, 3 meters without wearing protection all over your skin (gloves, mask, thick trousers and shirt...). If you wear all those, you can get closer, but you can not stay very long as it gets difficult to breathe. I was told once there was an accident, someone fainted next to the lava flow and lava did not touch the body, but it dried out because of the heat. Sorry if this is disturbing.

  • In that place and conditions...what's the estimated temperature in the environment, how long would a person be able to stay there without having any kind of problems?
