More secure than some punk or moron hosting apps in the basement or broom closet? Lost laptops and missing patches are the biggest security risk for any business. Same reason your money is more secure in the bank than in your ever so capable hands.

IT is not, nor ever will be, a core competency of most businesses. They exist to deliver some other good or service. They should not be dedicating internal resources to IT services.

Are all you guys high school drop outs or something?

Go read a book or 10. See general purpose technology. The utility model is inevitable.

IS NOT ABOUT SMALLER COSTS. Cause small or big YOU pay them anyway. Is for TOTAL CONTROL of your business, by these enterprises who will force you to use their clouds. They found a way to OWN the internet and your all intentions. You as a small company will pay for leased software, instead of having them like is normal. And NO, to all this shit, no one wants a leased car forever you morons.

You now pay gas bills, power bills and they want you to pay software bills like a slave.

yes, this is the next crap on acaparating all the people's intentions. welcome to trumman's show on the entire planet !!!

An example of cloud and the danger it posses :

Adobe installs Photoshop on their servers and lease it. The user won't have access to it anymore, so they will pay to use it, monthly probably. But wait, at any point they can raise the price and voila, you are THE SLAVE OF ADOBE FOREVER. And so on, for other, you will pay like a slave and they will control all aspects !

It's more secure because 1. it's a multi tenant system, so there's only one version of one app running on one environment. 2. Salesforce (or Google, Amazon, etc.) employs far more security experts/technologies than your average business does. 3. Big customers, like banks, health care providers, etc. audit the system, make demands and ensure it's up to their standards and 4. all of the people, technologies and processes are certified by groups like SAS 70, SysTrust, ISO 27001, TRUSTe, etc.

Who maintains the servers in the cloud and from what countries would these be hosted from China, Russia or ???, in order to get the cheapest rate per month. Are we just going to dump our all of our vital information and proprietary business data on public servers and leave them more exposed to hackers? What would prevent a "cloud host" from selling your data to a competitor or giving them a login to your business account. Something to think about I guess.

Cloud computing is great for running the "business" side of my DJ business, but is useless for DJ performing and music production/recording. Plus I don't feel comfortable keeping all my QuickBooks data on another server - if only my life revolved around business documents then this would be perfect! Lol
