  • @MrJeffreyb21 Did you try using glue before you flew it? I lost the battery connection on mine and the O.S. 160 ran it full bore nose first into the ground ant the whore tail section was in perfect shape. I now have the Giles 202 (basically the same exact plane) with no problems.

  • I had this plane by Nitroplanes. I put a 160 electric motor in it with 2 5 cell 5000 mah batteries. I took it out for a flight and the tail ripped off in flight. Nitroplanes refused to give me a refund or replace the plane.

  • Super model. Rozbiłem taką przy pierwszym starcie z silnikiem DL 50.

  • With the all the gear in it and the 7oz of nose weight it came out to about 12lb 6oz. So without the nose weight it would be 11lbs 15oz. Since I weighed it I did add another 7oz. So in s nut shell its current flying weight is 13lbs 1oz..

As I recall I did find others that said it was tail heavy out of the box so do a more research on that, RCUniverse is a great place for info.

Over the winter (NJ) I will probably make a 14oz block weight and mount it up under the engine block.

  • Thanks for the info. What is the total weight of the plane with children? I'd like to stay under 12 pounds.

  • Yes I do have the exact same one, and I do have the OS 160 in mine. The title of this video says 120 but I think is should say 140 as that's on the box I have.

Moki 180 in this video is a Gas engine and for what I know about Gas engines they are no where near as powerful as the nito engines. You will love the power of the OS 160 which will easily hang this plane on the prop.

The plane to me was very tail heavy. Right now I temporarily have 14oz of weight under the tank and may add more.

  • you have this exact Katana with a 140? I'm thinking of putting my OS 160 in one. This video plane seems to lack power and moves a little bit like a weak electric.

  • nice flying, but it looks a little underpowered. I may get one and put a Moki 180 in mine

  • Just had my CMPro Katana 140s maiden flight yesterday. Good flight but a very windy day. Just flew it one time. Needs more engine down thrust. My CMPro Magpie 50 did not fare so well in the wind. Engine died upwind of the runway. Had to land it with a strong tailwind so it came in hard. The body took a beating. Repairable, but not a one or two day job.

  • Just placed one on order.
