@stayawayfromtheshed Religious people call people who don't believe them, "evil", whereas humanists would say that religious people were just "wrong". So who is being hateful?

I really like how he mentioned the use of poetry at a funeral. Subjective value and truth.
The foundations of my faith.

This didn't touch on humanism as much as I thought it would, given the name and description.

I've heard Richard Dawkins and similar speakers make distinctly hateful anti-religious comments to rounds of applause and laughter. Frankly, it's a little bit creepy.
And he calls himself a humanist. He just uses that to justify his hateful attitude against people who don't share the same opinion and ideals.
What's actually happening here is these people are wallowing in self agreement.
I don't think any of these people, including Dawkins, care about what anyone believes.

RICHARD DAWKINS IS THE BOMB

Although the event was hosted by Randolph-Macon Woman's College there were a number of students present from Jerry Falwell's Liberty "University" who obviously asked questions from a pro-religious slant. Dawkins got increasingly scathing about Liberty, to the delight of the R-MWC students. I think he was basically questioning how Liberty could be considered a university at all.
