Carey Beebe demonstrating how to dust a harpsichord soundboard.

When dust has accumulated on the soundboard for some time, it is not possible to remove it by simply blowing. A crow feather is handy to reach between the strings and pins, dislodging the dust before blowing it towards the tail of the harpsichord where it can be vacuumed. A soft, long-haired paint brush is useful for less restricted areas. Do not scrub, particularly if you have a soundboard painting! You will need to dust more frequently depending on your immediate surroundings and whether you have pets, or keep the harpsichord in your bedroom.
