hey man im new to recording with pro tools, when recording vocals is there a way to make them all the same volume? the main vocals that is. dont want the first verse louder than the second etc.. and the next song to have a higher or lower vocal volume.. thanks man

@ThaRealGio Hey thanks for watching. Yes, there is a way to get your vocals to a consistent level from song to song. There will be some variance though, as songs are most likely different in some small way. First, I would run each vocal track through the Audio Suite plugin GAIN, and use it to analyze the gain. When you analyze it, lets say it reads -0.07db. You can leave it there and use the gain plugin to boost the other tracks to this level, or boost ALL vox tracks to say 0.03db (what I do)

@ThaRealGio (cont'd from previous) Then after getting consistent levels with all the vocal tracks at the root, you could put an RTAS compressor plugin on the vocal channel. This will put a little 'glue' on the track to make it sound a little more interesting. You can tweak the knobs within the compressor plugin to suit your taste.
