when i was a child in the third grade i was at a baseball game and started have trouble breathing. I was taken to the hospital where i found out I had asthma, they started giving me prednisone for many months. In the third grade i was sometimes made fun of for being so skinny and underweight...first day of fourth grade i weighed about 130 pounds.

Is there a safe dosage of prednisone. I have been on prednisone daily for two years. i take approximately 7 - 8 mg daily as i have sinus polyps which knock out my sense of taste and the ability to smell.

i have lupus... SLE.. i have been on prednisone/solone for around 12 years... i had in the past few years been on 5mgs only but overall, i do put on weight around my face, abdonmen.. etc... and bruise eazily. wishing everyone good health and lots of hugs :) xoxo

I have Polyglandular Autoimmune Syndrome Type 2 that started with Addison's Disease. I was diagnosed about 18 years ago. I hated those first couple years due to having alot of Addisons crisis'. Anyway I have been on Prednisone, Florinef, Levoxyl, and Rocaltrol for just about all of those 18 years. I wish I could take something other than the Prednisone it is so bad for the body and it is hard on the stomach. It sucks.

i have addisons and i was 200 lbs and lost 70 lbs in a 3 months due to a addisons crisis. when i was diagnose, i gain the weight back so fast i looked like fred flintstone
