My aunt took these pictures at the 144th Anniversary reenactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek at Middletown, Virginia while I manned the Union guns on the ridge.

  • I was there also. I'm a member of Co. K, 5th Virginia with the fighting first regiment. Where about were you located on the ridge? Near the Heater House?

  • From your perspective on the Reb line, we were the battery farthest to the right on the ridge. We were closest to the highway.

  • Do you remember firing a shot as we got closer and and entire section or the rebel line collapse? I was in that little section. We were the color guard that day and we were in your front.

  • As a matter of fact, I think I do remember that!

  • Which artillery unit are you with?

  • 3rd PA Artillery, Battery B
