I think everyone needs to shut up about how the new album sucks, etc etc. Shiina didn't compose much if at all on variety, that's why it sounds different, and there is nothing wrong with the sound, it's not as brilliant as shiina's stuff, but it's still damn good and much better then most of the crap in the mainstream.
