  • Thought I should mention, I did find one procedure researching this topic in U.S. patents that uses oxalic acid to pull down the gold from the thio sulphate, will let you know more if and when I find out more about this, thanks.

  • @Onebigpiston

    Thank you.

Can you post the patent number?

  • Oh, ok, so is Chloroauric acid made from leaching/dissolving gold into Chlorine? does it work on oxidized ore? thanks.

  • @Onebigpiston

    Ore's are a different animal.

The Oxalic/Oxalate procedure is aimed toward concentrated gold solutions.

Mainly due to the energly invested in the process.

  • i have quedstions-

    1. is this dangerous?

    2. can you do this if you are 15?

  • @pyroprojectskid

Dealing with chemicals and derived reactions is dangerous indeed. Going through all safety procedures and whearing safty gear will ensure nothing will happen to you.

I strongly advice to you to include an adult if you plan on doing this.

I'm not suggesting you being incompetent, but an adult will definatly bring a different point of view to your learning expiriance, SAFETY WISE.

Good luck and be safe. Sam.

  • I've heard they powered space ships and vimanas with a liquid like this.

  • Unfortunately chloroauric acid is just as expensive.. XD

  • how do you seperate the red liquid from the gold powder without losing any gold? loving your videos by the way!

  • Am I correct in assuming the purity of the gold precipitated is about equal to the average purity of the gold used to react with the HCl & the HHNO3 when the the chloroauric acid is produced? (This based on the fact that there will always be impurities, and the fact that, in the case of electronic parts, a little copper will likely be dissolved by the acids along with the gold.)

  • sure you made some hefty cash on those nuggets, gl to you friend.
