When CEEFAX decided to alter their new-look page design, much to the dismay of its viewers, BBC2 gained only two new tapes to replace Jumpin' Jupiter (which had only been in service since March 1988) and Country Express: namely Cuban Boy (yes, the track from BBC1's Sounds Of The South) and Twilight Break; the latter having been foisted onto BBC1 with effect from October 1991. BBC2 now gained a half-hour slot in the mornings which didn't always allow time for either of these two tapes to run to the end; however, there was a time when in 1990 when Parliament was in recess, CEEFAX did run from 0730 until 0900, and gave us a playing of Cuban Boy all the way through before another rendition of Tina!!!! In 1992 it was replaced by Horizons before this was the end of the line for the BBC2 dreamy-style tapes.

  • like if you came here after reading the still game wikipedia

  • @Hodmox it's the same song, yeah

  • an actual good upload

  • I remember the Monday morning when Ceefax changed their pages. BBC2 went to do Pages from Ceefax, so I woke up extra early to see what it would be like on TV. Problems were apparent on air: Page 298 kept rolling to nothing... seems Ceefax forgot to tell them it was changing! I think eventually someone paged in 196 live on air about 15 mins later. Had to get ready for school after that episode!

  • Yeah I suppose it is a little whiney .... but energetic track 3 following more than makes up for this... ; )

  • Pity track two is so mind-numbingly awful.

  • I would also like to know this. it's my favourite of the four tunes here!

  • I do believe that the only time this ever made it to the end was on its first outing?

  • whats the title of the tune that starts on about 5:50
