Well that's fascniating. I hope they do at least put it somewhere so that it can be seen. You say none of the TB range exist in any good condition. Are there still remains or wreckages of any lying around that can be seen and identified? Or were they all broken up?
Unfortunately none exist in any good condition. However, one TB-3 (ANT-6) was discovered recently in the arctic. It had apparently been searching for another lost TB-3 on an aeronautical polar expedition. Maybe some entrepreneur will excavate it and rebuild it like they did with the P-38 "Glacier Girl". (But other Tupolev variants like the Sb-2 and Tu-2 are still around) It truly is a pity that none of these beautiful aircraft exist.
Well I'll be damned. Thankyou for answering this. Would seem as this information has only recently become available by googling for it. I've been wondering for years what happend to that. Do you know if there are still any remaining Tupulev TB type aircraft or the German variants of the same design still in existence?
Apparently the other one crashed when a passenger was allowed at the controls. Famous french pilot St. Exupery was on the plane the day before, and one of the to-be designers of the P-47 just missed boarding the plane on the day it crashed. Go figure.
Fantastic piece of history! This aircraft was replaced with the ANT-20bis after the Maxim Gorki crashed. But I cannot find any info anywhere about what happend to its replacement. Does anyone know if it still exists in any shape or form?
@zipacna1980 Yes, I since heard about that. Such a shame.

The pilot handed the controls off to a passenger, the passenger rammed the plane firmly into the ground.

Just google : tb-3 wreckage. You should get an article from journals[dot]cambridge[dot]org that has lots of nice details about this unique wreck.
