If you insist on using gas. There are several companies that sell High Output alternators like power bastards @1200rpm put out 220 amps 12v . some claim H.O. @ 650 rpm. for police & taxi etc... i use a small water cooled 12v motor like that found in toys (power wheels etc...) to power the H.O.alt. NO NOISE ! &self generates ! runs 24/7 . WE have NOT needed GASOLINE since 1969. normally you need 1hp per 25amps.@3600rpm. if any of this helps...?

It's odd that you go through the whole dialog about direction of rotation and the fan moving the air through the unit and "out the back end", when this is just the opposite of what happens! Despite the way the fan looks, it is designed to run clockwise, and pulls air IN the back. As others have noted, you have it running counter-clockwise and it will overheat under load.

your alt pulley is 1:1 ratio...normally the alternator runs at least 2x the speed of the engine.
you NEED an Ammeter to tell you the output...other wise you dont know how much power youre making for your petrol youre burning...read up on how to wire an ammeter in tho' not same as voltmeter.you prob trashed it when you wired it up?? 150cc might not be big enough to run alternator faster..you'll have to experiment with pulley sizes and load to see what engine will pull...........nice vid.

nice setup I`ve got to run a system like this on my 6x6 all terrain vehicle it was manufactured this way how ever some wires got worn down and they arced out and burnt up so I need to rewire it can you show me how you wired the amp meter from the altenator and is that alt a regulated one .

I like the mechanical setup. Very robust & the rubber used on the feet will definitely reduce vibration. But it seems most ppl who build these things make the same mistake: mounting the alt alongside the engine so that it spins counterclockwise (backwards). The fans on most of these things are meant to operate clockwise. They don't work so well backwards, so the alt could overheat under heavy load. Check out JMEMantzel's vids on his generator. His alternator is oriented correctly.
Hi, I'm just building a similar system myself. I'm an Englishman in Bulgaria and we get lots of power cuts here so I decided to something about it. I would be interested on how you wired the alternator switches etc. I just got to the stage of mounting the motor with twin pulley and alternator. Thanks for posting. Excellent job, Well Done.
