At an event in Cape Girardeau, MO on May 13, 2008, Obama claims people in Afghanistan speak Arabic, only to correct himself. Arabic is only spoken in Kurdish Iraq, not in Afghanistan.
@afghannational Dari, which is the language most of Afghanistan uses, is actually an ancient language. They used to call it the language of the Kings. So it is not a a newly develpoped language but an ancient one, albiet it may have changed with the times.
no bro, afghanistan is also the land of nuristanis! among others, also nuristanis are our pride and they are real patriotic people. btw. seen historically, there is no much difference between afghans, nuristanis, pashayis, tajiks etc...
read my response to WOGI5M... and understand some history....but today, of course, farsi is the main means of communication across Afghanistan...and it is not the language of the Tajiks...this is contradictory to historical facts...before people were divided in Tajik, Afghan, etc. they spoke very similar languages. Only after they have successfully defeated the Persians many times, the Persians finally came came up with the solution to assimilate them...those who resisted fled to south
the base of afghani or pashto goes back to more than thousands of years and it is among only some languages still alive that were spoken by the Hephalites, Khushans etc. Als what we call Tajiks today were speaking Bactrian languages then and share ethnically the same origin with the afghans. Around 700 AD, after the Kushano-Hephtalites were defeated by the Arabs, they became perso-arabised forcibly in order to disroot the permanent uprisings and opposition to Persians once for all.
Just as Afghans would be unable (and uninterested) in being able to identify all of the ethnic, cultural, groups with different languages and dialects in the United States. They have no clue about that as people in the United States have no clue about them. We would fail a test about each other.
you fucking thick CUNT! We don't speak Arabic in Afghanistan, neither do we speak Urdu in Afghanistan and Pashtun is NOT a language, its an ethnic group you fucking stupid bitch. We speak Dari (Afghan Farsi) and Pashto are the main languages.
