2006 marked the 28th year The Catholic Workers and the friends have come to Omaha for a two and a half day retreat to make the Christmas celebration complete by exploring the often ignored and deeper meaning of the season. Offutt Air Force Base has served as the home of the nation's nuclear
weapons targeting and command headquarters for over 56 years. Today STRATCOM at Offutt AFB holds the whole world under a threat .

I really don't think that STRATCOM only exists for the sole purpose of destroying the world ala Dr Evil. I sometimes wonder how people like this function in society. Pretty Bjorked up. This people do not and will never understand the important task of the United States Strategic Command. Thanks to the effort of USSTRATCOM, CTF-124 and others our armed forces have the means to not only take action in the event of a nuclear attack, but also DETER that attack from happening.

Since that "illegal" invasion, all universities have reopened after 30 years of being closed, %600 more clean water and electricity is flowing, free elections are taking place, modern medical care is now available, internet and cell phone service is present, and lastly, your tongue will no longer be cut for slandering government officials. paleo-hippies- I like that! Maybe instead of some well place gunshots, they should strap them to some minuteman III's and launch them into space. But that would be a total waste of our nukes! It's just hard to believe there are people out there like that. I just don't know what they are trying to prove. The nuclear genie is out of the bottle. And there is no one out there that I would trust more with that responsibility that U.S. Stratcom.  You won't find a more professional command.
