On the Tribute to Bill Monroe DVD which was done the year after he passed in '97, Butch Baldassari, talks about how he wanted to get the call to play this song at the show. He talks about the song, and goes through a couple of the passages. So I've been on a hunt now to find the tuning, because Butch doesn't divulge it, trade secret it seems. I googled and found your video. Man, you are playin the *&%$ out of it. It sounds really good. Thanks for sharing your gift, and thanks for the tuning!!!!

Butch was an amazing player! Sure wish he was still with us! :( I learned it from Sam Bush's transcription on the Homespun Bill Monroe DVD Vol 2. He lets the cat out of the bag as far as the tuning goes on that video. Thanks for the kind comments! It is a wonderful tune that all mandolinists should take a crack at! Good luck!
