I was 18 and living in Phoenix when I first heard this. Today Phoenix Starts at the New Mexico boarder and ends at the California Boarder, thanks to snowbirds.

Do not remember the year, I was listening to Brandmire and they said the 5th caller to call will play 21 and win a trip to Vegas, well I called and got in played and Won!!!. we Flew to Vegas along with Steve Goddard and his Wife,The Manager of KZZP and 2 other contestants had a great time and came back a Few extra bucks richer!!!

This is great to listen to. Takes me back to when local radio was funny. I still have my copies of the 45 and of the LP they put out. The" breakfast with Brandmire" was a lot of fun. I was at the studio in Mesa when they shot the picture for the 45 cover. Still in "the valley of the Loons".

That about the time Arizona became ruined.We use to be agriculture and copper state.but no more,they have almost paved the whole state.You even have to pay to see the Grand Canyon now.I grew up in east mesa/apache junction we had a small ranch .How sad it was to watch it turn into shit hole California.I hate Californians!!!!!I can't wait till the big one .LOL.bunch of commies'

For the Phoenix people, the singer in this song is Willie D. Loon, who along with Tim Hattrick (both Loons) have a morning radio show on KMLE.
