I understand your point, but what you are talking about isn't really the issue at hand.. Yes, McCain misspoke, I am not disputing that.. What this video claims however is that Czechoslovakia never existed, see 1.51, which I merely pointed out did. With regards to Czechoslovakia being a republic or not, you are sadly misstaken. Czechoslovakia was, when not a Soviet-controlled state, both a democratic and federal republic. Hence THE REPUBLIC OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA has existed.

That's like saying Germany is Prussia, Prussia no longer exists it's called Germany now. It would be fine if he did it once and got corrected, but to continuously make the mistake is idiotic. He made the same mistake in 2000 and George Bush Corrected him saying " even I know Czechoslovakia no longer exists". George Bush!?!?! It was never called the Republic of Czechoslovakia. Czech Republic yes, Slovakia yes, Czechoslovakia yes but never the Republic of Czechoslovakia.

Czechoslovakia was a sovereign state in Central Europe that existed from October 1918 until 1992. On January 1, 1993, Czechoslovakia peacefully split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
