Kohler tub filler / K-922 Performance Problem

Kohler K-922 tub filler performance problem. Be sure to not only read specs but call Kohler to ensure that your water flow rate through supply pipe, and all chosen valves will provide sufficient water flow. Anything that holds back flow rate will cause filler to function extremely poorly. Non-laminar water flow splatters and gushes in uncontrolled manner. I totally regret the choice. Do not trust a Kohler dealer, call the main number for technical confirmation that designed install will work.

Even the K-680 valve recommended in specs will not work unless flow rates meet minimum levels that are not described in specs. Solution offered by Kohler included increasing house water supply pressure to levels above recommendation for other appliances. I do not think I should have to risk damage to automated valves in washing machine and dishwasher to make tub filler work as portrayed.

The noise in video is tame compared to actual sound. Time to give up and rip this out !

Kohler DTV installation guides are not detailed enough or wrong as you suggested. Yes, the average high end plumbing sales staff has no clue along with the average plumber has not a chance of mounting equipment correctly. I do find the Kohler DTV specialists are very helpful and knowledgeable. It's a shame as this Laminar costs $500 and a real production to install.
