The herding instinct in Border Collies is incredible. Many years ago my son brought a black and white puppy home from the animal shelter. At the time I didn't know anything about the Border Collie breed. I thought it was just a mutt. When he was about a year old he managed to get out of my house. I found him outside hearding a woman who was pushing her baby in a stroller with her young son walking beside her. Since I always walked him on a leash he had no prior experience herding.
