hey guys and thanks for watching!
last night i built his super simple one-piece instrument, using three eye bolts for tuners, and a piezo pickup.

it sounds great, now i have to learn how to play it better..!

keep an eye open for my next video, where i'll play another cover song using this instrument.

have a great day guys!!!

  • OutSTANDING, m' mAn! very INSPIRATIONAL INDEED! I absolutely MUST quit thinkin' on cool stuff to make and GET BUSY MAKIN! That's what your vid is so good at, and really about utter simplicity -- Along with a coupla 'lectrified CBGS and Banjo, I want to make a bowable 'lectric box mountain dulcimer, cello, lap steel, Sitar, Esraij, viola and hollow-log drum. From the inspiration this vid has given me, I think I'll start by making a 30" scale Baritone lap steel w/ 2 long-scale bass strings. G'dAy!

awesome! i keep wanting to make a single stringed violin type instrument, played with a bow for looong notes, but i'm still stuck on how to make an "uncle crow" bow.. i don't know how a violin bow works.. i've heard one can be made using fine fishing line stretched tight and rosined up like a normal bow.. but i've never tried it. i want to see everything you build man!! be sure to make videos and send me pictures!! :)

  • @nachowayne

cool! but make the string action higher than i did. i'd say set it a good inch above the board. then the playing position of the fingers can be elevated to a more natural position.

    good luck!

  • @unstrung13,

It appears that you can make a guiter out of NOTHING. I would like to know what you have to keep the bridges on both sides to stay, did you put U pins or just they stay on the string tension?

  • @dsearch2007

    hey man!

the nut and bridge are held in place just by tension of the strings, it's how i build all my slide instruments, so that intonation can be corrected when needed. different gauge strings make clear notes at different pressures, and the bridge has to be adjusted for sweetness. my builds allow me to make changes and even rebuild the entire instrument within minutes.

    thanks for watching and commenting!

  • @mrrandomwritings

yup, and that's the point to all of my builds - they aren't meant to be fancy, but functional, and inspirational. you put it perfectly, thanks!!!
