  • @legendhunter47 Actually, this is a 1976 track. P-Funk was well established by then, having been founded in 1955, and having their first hit in 1967. Jimmy's first hit was one year earlier in 1966. Of course both of them were strongly inspired by Frankie Lymon. Jimmy was one of Frankie's boys, and he wrote one of Frankie's early hits. Lymon was basically the inspiration for nearly every notable vocal group of the 60's and 70's.
