The band is members of Big Dave & The Ultrasonics from Michagan. Nick Moss is on Guitar instead of the Utrasonics Dave Steele. Ben Wilson is on the keyboards (he's with Blues Traveller now) Piet Struyk is on drums & Jim Rasmussen on the bass guitar.

I've been a blues fan since I 1st heard the late great Paul Butterfield as a high schooler in the 60s, but I'm sorry to admit that I only "discovered" Curtis a little over a year ago in Santa Cruz at Moe's Alley as part of Mark Hummel's '09 Blues Harmonica Blowout. I had the pleasure of seeing Curtis again in early '10 at Biscuits and Blues in SF. He's the real deal!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! This is reminiscent of Curtis from Bojangles in the early 90's. Curtis is the epitome of "Blue eyed soul." He just keeps getting better and better. I think his recent life threatening health conditions have "gifted" him to be even more passionate and liberated. I mean, what's the worst that can happen, now? He might die?

He beat Stage 4 Hep C, liver cancer, and lung cancer (we thought it metastasized)...the rest is "music to our ears." Love ya, Curtis! BOOM!
