1985 Oldsmobile 98 cold start and drive

1985 Front wheel drive Olds 98 Regency Brougham with 163k miles. Cold start at -6 celsius. It's got an Buick 3.8 MPFI engine and THM440-T4 transmission. It's having original paint in quite good condition. Currently having just one rust spot near the left tail light. I'll fix that next summer. I've already repaired rust damages on all door bottoms. Needed to weld new metal. The brown stuff you can see on drivers door is anti corrosion spray.

My uncle has a 85 Regency which looks like a shit hole right now im gonna see if i can have it and the car only has 85 original miles on it it needs a major paint job and new seats in the front that are leather also the steering coulomn is is not workin I have flats in every tire and I dont know if the AC still works but I am willing to take his car becuase i am a mechanic and I don't wanna see this beautiful car GM made in the Junk yard

Thanks for your comment. Hope you get that olds back on the road again. These are nice cars to drive. And these FWD models are pretty rare here in finland. Is rust problem there? Or only peeling paint? AC in mine olds leaks somewhere. I was thinking i shoud recharge it with R134 refrigerant but i've been told that i need a new compressor to run that.

@Dumblikeyoutu I owned an '86 Regency as well, and I remember the dual chime. I thought it added so much character to the car. Still one of the best cars I ever owned.

Back in 1995 I owned a 1986 Olds 98 Regency. One of the BEST cars I ever owned. Never gave me any problems whatsoever. I loved the dual seat belt chime. When I heard that on this clip I was in heaven. I sorely miss that car and wish I'd never gotten rid of it.

Good car, i just bought a 85 nighty eight brougham 2 door for 400 bucks, been running great, always check the fluids, i finnaly got a car worthy of rims and kill stereo!!! keep on rollin bro.
