Bensenville Sunday Freight & METRA

A mixture of freight and METRA action at the Bensenville, Illinois METRA station. This is on the old Milwaukee Road line from Chicago to Elgin. First up is a freight inbound into the yard. Then an eastbound METRA stops, and then contines to Chicago. After that, a three locomotive lash-up stops short of the station and then reverses back into the yard. Finally a westbound METRA pulls in, stops, and then heads off to Elgin. This last METRA was the "zoo" train, carrying Chicago Bear's fans, after the Bears-REdskins game, Sunday October 24, 2010. Many an intoxicated passenger was riding in the coaches. There were even winos on the platform and some kid had to grab his Dad to keep the guy from falling on the track! ( off camera but you can kind of hear it.)

Thank=You for watching and commenting. Bensenville is a great train town. I regret not taking pictures back in the 70's, when the Milwaukee Road was still active. I hope to get up there again soon.
