The exhaust is through the drilled-out centre post of the CD spindle.

Hey lol! I had that same problem! I think I am going to plug it with hot glue all around. I just wish there was a way I could still take it apart afterward...

It's true that the cover to spindle base is a more-or-less permanent glue job. It's best to test as much as possible first, before the glue decision! I've tried using an o-ring seal and rubber gaskets, but it didn't work so well! (i.e. I got real wet...;)

You're right...I haven't had a beaver for a while.
Seriously, I did invent a backpack gas-powered device for girdling trees, called the "L'il Beaver'. It has a chainsaw chain wrapped around a cone as the cutting head and takes big chunks out of tree bark to kill weed trees.
Not half as much fun as running a magnetically-attached Skilsaw blade powered by compressed air and CD's on a CD spindle, though. (See my PumpkinCutter video ;)
