Thailand (and Tibet) have long traditions of Buddhist monks blessing items for the benefit of the faithful. The charms (or amulets) can range from truly inexpensive items to extremely high priced objects.
The marketplace for genuine Blessed objects (with a cerifiable/trackable level of documention showing which monk(s) blessed the item on a specific date and, perhaps, the name of the ceremony at which the item was Blessed.
These are genuine religious objects and should not be considered to be a trinket or toy.
Dont call them thais call them siem, also known to steal history and religion.
