  • what the fuck i thought this would be easy for me, but my p trap is held on with glue, and my house is brand new

  • @38snipshow Are you saying that the adjustable p-trap is all glued in place to where you cannot remove it? That would not be a good idea. The whole idea with the p-trap is you can remove it to clear clogs, etc.. I've never seen a p-trap done this way. Maybe you should call the Realtor &/or the builder to see why this happened...? Maybe the builder can change it for you. Joe :0

  • @VideoJoeKnows well it isn't "my" house, I just rent out the basement for college. But still the house is brand new, and I don't think the landlord would've installed it himself, you think these new home builders are getting cheap or?..

  • @38snipshow I'll tell you this....it would be easier & quicker to install a removeable adjustable p-trap rather than glue one together & install it. Usually they install a glued trap where you can't get to....like under a tub or shower. Guess they flunked the awareness test. Joe :0

  • Hey Joe,

Before doing this should i shut off any water? Removing pipes and plumbing makes me a little nervous, im always afraid of having a "niagra falls" problem on my hands =) .. great video.

  • @YouBigChooch You do not have to shut off any water valves as you will only be working on the drain pipes. Remember that the trap area has water in it so try to catch that with a bucket or something. Once you have the trap apart, remember not to turn your faucet on! I've done that before so watch out...lol Good luck with your project. Joe :0

  • @xaratherus That's great that you decided to unclog your sink yourself. It wasn't that difficult after all....huh. Keep watching my channel as anything you see, you should be able to do yourself as I won't show anything I don't think you can do. If I can do it, you can do it!! Thanks for your message. Joe :0

  • Hey, just wanted to say thank you Joe! I rent a house and my landlord can be a bit - slow on maintenance issues, so when I went to do dishes this morning and found that my sink was clogged, I was very annoyed. After plunging failed to fix it and a quick dose of drain cleaner wouldn't break up the mess, I watched your video, saw that it is pretty easy to check for "inside" clogs this way, and lo and behold, 15 minutes later the mass of spaghetti that was clogging up the drain is gone!

  • @MsCaramel007 The name of the tool, to loosen the nuts, is called an adjustable channel lock wrench or I just call them channel locks. Sometimes you can loosen the nuts with your hands so I only use the channel locks when needed. Thanks for your question. Joe :0

  • What's the name of the tool you used to loosen the nuts?
