The countries Dragarch and Phespia had been fighting for almost half a century. Both countries neared anhilation. But then Prince Nolan of Phespia swiftly launched a force of Xivalier mercenaries to loot and burn the capital of Dragarch. By doing this, Dragarch's forces were completely destroyed, including the entire royal family.
Immediately after the battle, Prince Nolan refused to pay the Xivalier what they required and the mercenaries murdered the prince as well as took his brother, Prince William, hostage. Unfortunately for William, the new Phespian king, William's younger brother, Alexander, had no desire to pay the ransom. He thought of his older brother as a threat.
Though this was without good reason because William abandoned his title long ago for a life in the priesthood. He dedicated his life to the Architect, the almighty Phespian god.
One of the Dragarch soldiers survived the siege and now wanders the land searching for any Xivalier or Phespian to kill. His name is unknown at this time.
Once the Xivalier got wind of the uselessness of William, they brought him ten miles away from the capital of Dragarch and prepared for his execution...
note to self: do not anger the hooded warrior.
