Jeri Ellis was cleaning the leopard holding area at the Potawatami (pot-ah-WAH'-toh-mee) zoo when one of the cats attacked.SOT: Terry DeRosa, Potawatomi Zoo Director: "She was just doing her regular daily routine cleaning of the holding areas."Zoo visitors saw Ellis taken away on a stretcher - her head in bandages.SOT: Heather Eschback, Zoo Visitor: "We heard fire trucks and by the time we got over toward the leopard area, they were taking the zoo keeper out and just saw her coming out on the stretcher." Ellis has been released from the hospital. The zoo's director says the leopard that attacked has been in the holding area since giving birth in December. For all you people who are so against zoos think about this, wheres the first place you saw a living wild animal? If it wasn't for zoos you'd only see leopards in books and television. For all you people hating on how this animal was once wild and is now caged up, no animals are taken from the wild anymore so this leopard is captive born and this is the only life it knows, and you're telling me if someone said no more having to get your own food it'll be served to you for free you'd say no?!
