  • Can i use finger on display? Or does it work only using pen?

  • @aleffe88 - You can't use a finger, it only works with a pen. Devices with a touch screen that can be used with a finger require a layer to be put on top of the e-Ink screen, which blurs the image. This device uses Wacom magnetic pen technology that is places behind the screen. You can read my full review at

this wep page is open... possible?? in bebook neo?

(sorry, i am poor et english)

  • @lleave1

Yes, that PDF file can be opened in Neo. But it is formatted for A4, which is difficult to view on a 6" screen. Still, in landscape mode and "Fit to width" zoom, the notes are readable.

  • Excellent review! answered almost all my questions, but I have few more, Can this web browser open pdf files embedded in the websites, as my profs post lecture notes online so can I be able to open them directly from this browser instead of downloading them to PC first and then transferring to them to neo. Also can it handle large pdf files like 100mb size, and when we draw or annotate in pdf does it get saved as a new pdf? Thank you very much!

  • @TheNoether

If a PDF file is opened via a link (like they normally are), Neo downloads it, saves into its downloads folder, then opens and lets you turn off WiFi while reading it. I tried opening 110Mb PDF file with lots of graphics, and it worked like any other PDF, maybe a fraction of second slower. A page took about 1.5 seconds to open, which is normal considering the amount of graphics. Annotations are stored in a separate file, and can only be viewed on Neo, as far as I know.

  • @mbroxer Thank you for the quick reply! I have finally decided to purchase Entourage Edge. It seems using a 6-inch e-ink screen to view lots of PDF files will get very tedious(zooming, scrolling). I came across Entourage Edge which is specially designed for students, though it is bulky and expensive it seems it can work as a netbook, note books(it has good note-taking capabilities) and ereader.

I spent an hour browsing quite actively, on web sites with images, downloading PDF files and reading them with WIFI still on (you can turn if off while reading offline stuff to save battery), and by the end of the hour I still had 4 of 5 bars of the battery charge shown. It doesn't necessary mean it can last for 5 hours, but still it seems quite durable.

  • How long does the battery last when surfing the internet on wifi? I have some websites to study from and this sort of thing would be ideal.
