Forbes has released its 2010 World's 100 Most Powerful Women list. The newest list was constructed to reflect "the New Order of now," so it not only includes CEOs and political figures, but also those who have proved to wield social influence.
First lady Michelle Obama tops the list, with Irene Rosenfeld, CEO of Kraft Foods, coming in second. Media powerhouse, Oprah Winfrey, comes in third, while German chancellor Angela Merkel and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, landed in the 4th and 5th slots, respectively. An unexpected newcomer to the upper echelons of the list is number 7: Lady Gaga, who has recently taken political stances on issues such as the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy. Two other big names in the entertainment world made it into the top 10--Singer Beyonce Knowles came in 9th and comedian and talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, came in 10th.
