Thanks for your great responses, Kerry! I will try the mushrooms, too. Thanks also for the specific brands on the supplements. I will get those tomorrow. The vet says she only has 4-6 months to live, but I swear, after her breakfast and dinner today, she acted like a crazy little puppy. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!

HI! He is still in full remission and feeling good. We have moved to chemo every two weeks, versus every week, so that gives us a bit of a break. We had to look into two lumps last week, but they were just fatty bumps. He is loving his home-cooked meals and morning beach walks. I swear he looks younger than when we started on this healing journey. I am a bit nervous for him to get off the chemo if that is what is keeping him in remission, but need to just keep doing my best. HOW ARE YOU???

@NightClubc YAY! happiness is a fabulous natural medicine for our little friends. :)
Hi,
Thank you so much for this recipe. My sweet Ruby had her first bowl this morning and keeps staring at the counter for more. You mentioned the Omega 3's are important, but didn't if I was to give those. Is this in a fish oil? Thanks so much!!!! I'll keep you posted on her progress!

@kburnat1 YAY for Ruby!!! So awesome :) Diego nearly tackles me to get him food faster now that I home cook it. And I SWEAR he looks and acts as if he is two yrs old again, when the chemo isnt making him tired. So... Omega 3s are an oil that can be derived from fish, yes. I use K9 Omega by Aloha Medicinals. Diego is now 36lbs, so I use 2 capsules a day and I poke them with a knife, then squirt the oil on his breakfast.

@kburnat1 I recently talked to two top radiologist and oncologist here in town and they suggest n-3 oil, which is derived from algae, not fish. From what I understand, this can lower the chance of there being metals in the oil, as many people are worried about now with fish. You can get a very affordable over the counter at our local CVS store (the CVS generic brand) for $13 or something. It is time released I believe.

@kburnat1 It is one of the ones this oncologist recommended to me. I will be switching over to that once my omega 3s are finished. I also take omega 3s myself and will switch over to the n3s. Sidenote... I now add about a cup of mushrooms to Diego Secret Doggie Sauce. And I have just started to put in fresh parsley(handful chopped) and a few cloves of garlic. When I cook a batch I make about 5 days worth and freeze half of it so it doesnt sit for 5 days.Keep us posted on Ruby! hugs, Kerry

@kburnat1 Don't forget to put in the Seaweed Calcium powder (1tsp per pound of meat) after the big crockpot of food has cooked and cooled down. The brand I use is by Animal Essentials. hugs, Kerry and Diego.

@kburnat1 Karen... I suggest to everyone to look into Aloha Medicinals at their K9Immunity and Transfer Factor products. Very helpful when the dogs are going through treatments, but I will keep Diego on these for a very long time if not foreve at this point. There are a ton of great testimonials and info on their site as well.
