  • I stand corrected. I lived through that era and I have the Flatfoot Sam 45 record stored away somewhere. I first heard it on radio from Randy's Record Shop in Gallatin, Tennessee. Or was it Ernie's Record shop?

Please accept my apologies. Always check, then verify.

  • @surpie1940 Forget it. I was overly harsh and it's me who owes you an apology. This is suppose to be fun and not confrontational. I made it confrontational....not you. If I had a nickel for every time I "check and verify", I'd be in the poorhouse. (Wait, I am in the poorhouse) My fault and instead, I ask for you to accept my apology for being a smart ass. Take care, 9th.

  • Isn't this the flipside of Clarence "Frogman" Henry's I Ain't Got No Home ? Clarence Henry was on contract to Chess Records in the 1950s. Neither Clarence Henry nor Chess Records can be called "obscure."

  • @surpie1940 The B-Side of "Ain't Got No Home" was "Troubles, Troubles", also by Frogman and was on Argo released in 1956. Argo was a subsidiary of Chess Records. Your comment "Neither Clarence Henry nor Chess Records can be called "obscure." makes absolutely no sense in the context of this song nor what I said about it. I make enough errors. I don't need you to come along and start imagining additional ones that are baseless and incorrect.

  • There is an earlier version of this on a small label, without the New Orleans backing, but this is the one that rocks.

  • @lordkoos Yeah and I think I have it. I have his stuff spread across 4 hard drives and this is really beginning to get messy. In addition, I have a double closet of 45s and shelves upon shelves of LPs (at least 10,000). I don't believe I have anything by him on vinyl tho.
