@tekkenarmorkingking Actually, both shows debuted in 1986. But the Real Ghostbusters didn't come out until sometime later in the same year.

This is why the series based from the Movie was called The Real Ghostbusters. Because some poor soul saw this and though this was fun....NO FUCKING WAY!

maybe . . . its because the people who made the real ghostbusters had some form of respect for the original ghostbusters franchise and didnt see any reason to disrespect it.
Unlike today's remakes where they go in with the attitude that the original was a piece of shit that needed to be gutted and repaired.
Just maybe, MAYBE the people who made the real ghostbusters synched it in homage
