Broadcast (2011) Dr Alice Roberts reveals how your body tells the story of human evolution. The way you look, think and behave is a product of a 6 million year struggle for survival. We have uncovered the secrets of the atom and travelled to the moon. But how did humans come to be so successful? This series explores the anatomical changes that have given us, and our ancestors, the edge. Everything from the way that we walk, to the shape of our jaw and even the way our thumbs move connects us intimately to the struggles and triumphs of our ancestors. Yet many of those changes have come at a surprising cost and the problems we face now are a direct consequence of our evolutionary journey. As much about our bodies today as about our bodies 6 million years ago, Origins of Us will change the way you see yourself.

  • @Pulsar89 Most have been dis-proven already. You talk like your BELIEF is a FACT. Creationism and Evolution are just beliefs, none of them can be solved by science because the scientific method cannot be applied to either. And yes I'm the brainwashed one(sarcasm) In case you you didn't notice, Evolutionists has made it so that all but a few schools in America teach Evolution as a fact, when all you have for "Proof" is a few reconstructed skulls found in the same rock layers as Human skulls.

  • @Notsobuscus

Did you actually watch the programmes, brainwashed kid?

Sahelanthropus tchadensis, Orrorin tugenensis, Ardipithecus ramidus, Australopithecus afarensis, Australopithecus africanus, Australopithecus sediba, Paranthropus boisei, Homo habilis, Homo ergaster, Homo erectus,...

  • I've heard it said by several other anthropologists that it was older males mating with younger females that lengthened the human lifespan over time (ie defective genes in males were weeded out and they weren't around to have kids...good genes = long lifespan = available to breed with younger females = passing on good genes likely to lead to longer lifespan to next generation). I guess they found this idea to be too politically sensitive so they went with granny helping feed the kids.

  • Where are your Transitional Forms? Your Geologic Column? Can't find them? That's okay, you can just make up a new theory. Oh wait, you already did: Punctuated Equilibrium, which is even more of a shit pile then the theory that came before.

  • Ken Ham disliked this video!!!

  • @robobrain10000 That's a great question, how did they do that???

  • how the fuck did they get a cast of her skulll??????

  • @ShatterheartTheFirst That's the dry wit of the British - I love it! ;-)

  • 24:00 "For over a million years the hand axe was the cutting edge of stone tool technology."

Sometimes the BBC's puns are just painful.
