Painter Matthew Ritchie and Village Voice senior critic Jerry Saltz talk about the concept of the sublime in art. Saltz describes a visit to artist Robert Smithson's installation piece Spiral Jetty, and Ritchie discusses the ways that the colossal upsets of the 20th century revised the art world's relationship to the sublime.

Hosted by College of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts on March 28, 2007.
