yeah, that's what i thought too...but i just tried both ways. the suspended lunge totally killed BOTH of my thighs at once...even the suspended thigh gets a workout. it's gonna take some time to get used to this one! i'm thinking i might have to lunge on my right leg one day, left leg the next! seriously, it was THAT hard!
i take my hat off to you PJ...that was the hardest leg exercise i have ever tried (or failed at, depend how you look at it) :-)

I can dunk a tennis ball - lol. This exercise would be awesome for someone who wanted to be able to dunk. I don't do much jumping or jump training, but if I did, I'm sure I could get to the point of dunking a basketball, since it's partly a learned skill. I'm 6 feet tall and 45 years old btw, so some would say "not bad for an old guy." ;)

why not just use say a stair step? or a step stool?

@jwplater That would be a great intermediate step to work up to this, but the whole idea of having your back foot suspended is that it can't push off from a stable surface. That is what makes suspension training the highest intensity and best for proprioception, coordination and functional strength. This exercise is at least twice as hard and in my opinion, at least twice as beneficial as using a step, a stool or any other elevated stable surface.

Just use a chair or ur bed to put ur foot on if u don't have this contraption

@klevdav Good idea. That would be less advanced because it isn't suspension training, but would be a good way to work up to this one.
