Jeremiah 50 and 51 held me in captivity pretty much through the 1980's, but REALLY got a hold of me when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1991. It pretty much came to an end when the Saddam statue went down, came back a little with all the car bombs, and, came about a little bit again when Saddam said he used carriers to let him know what was going on, rather than using a phone from fear he'd get caught.

Good vid. I agree with how you compare the stubborn characteristics of ancient Israel with mankind in general. Good observation. The Bible is a mirror in so many ways. I also agree with GoodGuy4life199 re the prophecies of Jeremiah, especially with regard to the end of the Babylonian Empire. The study of biblical prophecy is eye-opening.

The king of Babylon that captured Jerusalem was also called Nebuchadnezzar . This time of captivity was the time when the Hebrews actually wrote down the book of the law . So, when jeremiah said "publish" he meant literally .

Watch the video on my favorites called Historical proof for Jesus.
The first historian to talk about Jesus was Tacitus. He was born in 55 AD, so he was contemporary with Jesus.

I believe they meant publish as in written form. Why not? They actually wrote it.;)

Yes it was pretty much to make something known publically, whether in writing or verbally. Most people in those days could not read or write, so news would be spread by word of mouth, possibly with the help of someone like the town criers.
