I asked my mom years ago as she grew up w/ this music. The line is "Aley Aley" not sure of the spelling. I can't remember what that means but Kitty gets it confused with "Eli Eli" which students from Yale would (don't know if they stil do) cheer. Rudy Vallee got a philosphy degree from Yale

Does anybody know what 80-80 really is?
("...she thinks 80-80 is a college cheer.")

Hi,
This song was very special for my Father, although I don't know why. I took me a while to find out the exact title of this song, I only had a copy on a cassette tape that belong to my Dad.
My Dad, who was a art-painter, died in 1996. Since then, this song is also special to me.
Thanks for posting !!

Thanks. When I've told friends about this song, they think I'm bullsh*tting them.
Glad to finally have found this for my proof.

It must have been nice to live before the dour feminists took over. I always liked this song. "she thinks that Mussel Shoals is a boxer's name."

What a great preformance!
Hilarious lyrics.
Thank you for posting it!

This is great! I have a hilarious version of this song by Milt Coleman on a Velvet Tone record with somewhat alternate lyrics and a ukelele.

I love Rudy's versatility. This is delightful and SHEER FUN! Love the lyrics,
"Rudy Vallee was a place between two hills" :),
I love HIM..... I love HIM!
Thank you RR, this was SWELL!

Goodness, genia--that Vallee charisma must have some bodacious follow-through to captivate y'all 77 years after the original. ;)
Also, check out that "Screen Song No.47" clip up to the right--Rudy & Betty Boop make a lovely couple!
