The Arab League announced on Sunday that it had agreed to a new plan whereby Syrian President Bashar al-Assad would give up power, allowing a unity government to form and put an end to 10 months of bloody uprising.
The resolution came after Saudi Arabia announced that it would withdraw its observers from the League's monitoring mission, which was dispatched in December to observe the fighting between the government and the armed opposition.
The League said it would ask the United Nations Security Council to support its new resolution.
Al Jazeera's Mike Hanna reports from Cairo.
@alonsomaldonado what dont you understand, syria is already free and modern. IT JUST DOES NOT HAVE THE COLONIAL VALUES THAT GIVE WESTERNERS A MASSIVE PROFIT FROM THEIR COPERATIONS AND ALSO DOES NOT HAVE ANY OPEN SEXUAL REFERENCES. if you call that modern and free to have sexual symbols in the public, and a mcdonalds in every second street. then FUCK modernity. Syria is happy with the government and president. Just stick to obama and keep your opinion to yourself

@chucky362 You should love our State, Syria. Not the government of Assad as you do. Assad has done wrong for many people and they are not happy. Assad rather kill his own people to keep power, than to create a electoral council for a develop country. Is time to give a chance to someone more competent to lead Syria in to the future. Someone capable to transform Syria in to a modern, just, free society and joint the rest of the develop nations. Bashar is a failure in that respect.

@alonsomaldonado you know you just proved the perfect ignorant opinionated westerner. The only difference in regards to modernaty in comparison to the west, is the open sexual references in the west. syrian culture is not based on the western idea of sexual desires. its based on religous and social aspects. They have hospitals, LCD screens, shopping centres. There are less sick people in syria then there are in america. So we love our president, and he will serve us.

@chucky362 Isn't about America. Assad is going out even with VETO from Russia and China.
Once the civil war has started there is no stoping it. Specially not with violence.
All Assad had to do, was create the state institutions to set a political battle so instead of lives lost, only votes lost, reputations lost & the capacity to change Assad if he loses the elections...PEACEFULLY...Assad does not see this because a)Born to a dictator b)he does not understands the modern needs of Syria's people.

@alonsomaldonado hes not going anywhere, at least when you get sick in syria, the govt pays for your health not like america.. he issued a pension for the unemployed last year.. he gives free diesle feul for all syrian citizens to keep warm in the winter. syria is not america, the people dont want it to be america. it is based on culture and not sex like america. so before you talk, go to live in syria and youll see the beauty of a non americanised country. america is a failure

@FUCKUH8ERS face it, you are short sited with regards to Syria's future. Is all about justice and freedom for the Syria's people. Is not about imaginary external influences. Syria deserves to have a decent and competent government.

@chucky362 The truth is, there is enough critical mass inside Syria to make the ultimate sacrifice for a free Syria. Is time for Al Assad incompetent leadership to be changed for the benefit of all decent Syrian people. Is time to give a chance to someone more competent to lead Syria. Someone capable to transform Syria in to a modern, just, free society and joint the rest of the develop nations. Bashar is a failure.

Ofcoarse they'll withdraw money, they been funding muslim brotherhood. 2 of the MB have directed the saudi company DMI Trust, a company formed by a saudi prince Faisal al-Saud, and has some big namers including Mohamed Bin Laden.
Controlling oil prices by creating instabilty, has saw oil barrels rise from $30's in 2000 to a $100per barrel 2011.
they pretend to be muslim, but history showed they'll side with the west and kill there brothers, just to gain riches. eg. killing Ikhwan
