In the end, giving a damn about others is all that will matter.

You could take with you not a better legacy than that of helping other in need...you are really spreading love...socially conscience songs like these should never fall from the landscape of pop music--keep pushing, praying, hoping and deeding for a better tomorrow for 'all.'

I hope whomever is the next person to add this song includes the narrative at the end about "we all being human beings" to leave that out takes away from the essence of the song
-
Forty years later, and still so true.
-
That was on my original LP. You had to turn it up and listen carefully. It goes: " I think everybody was born naked, so we all human beings, and until I find somebody who was born with clothes on, I ain't gonna figure they no more than me".
Amen brothere. It was civil rights struggle times and Spanky and Our Gang cleverly slipped this social commentary past the censors.

ACTUAL TITLE OF THIS SONG - Nowhere to Go Give A Damn
-
Wakes up a part of me that has been anesthesized over the years from too much me and not enough "we" Nice to be reminded, by an old favorite group, of the rightfulness of giving, sharing and supporting things that will make a better world for everyone.

Honesty Compassion Intelligence Guts
very few Republicans have it

Oh what we can learn from this song 40 years after it was first done.

I can relate to this even today. I live in Vancouver which has some of the most hideous slums in N. America. One night I walked out of my condo to go to the local bart to find block on fire- a tenement which was to be retrofited for gentrification had been torched by it's destitute, soon to be evicted, tenents. A year later, I gave up a managerial job in marketing to go back to school for social work. Perhaps that fore was a subconsciously influence
What was all that talking at the end of the song?
Never heard that before.

Just another version of this song---either left in from the recording studio or added to make it more "live".

A bit depressing but with commitment from the youth --like you---this world (with the right leaders) can fix alot of this. Also, register to vote and then vote for Obama!!!
