So many people misunderstood the intention of this video. it was to show how fast you should be able to build your stuff (just like the title says)

#1: ofcourse if there are other engineers or ammo is limited the actual time will vary.

#2: this is not a discussion about where is the best place to build

#3: this is not a discussion about on what order your build should be

#4: this is not a guide on how you should play engineer

This is a video on how fast you should get a sentry and other structures up. my position on this is: "if you don't think you can, you'll have plenty of excuses why you cant." and I hate that part of us.

----- Original Description -----
So I've noticed some engineers, usually build in the back instead of building to defend the first point. So I made this video to show how fast an engineer should be able to build not just his dispencer and sentry but also his teleports!

Yes it is the nature of an engineer to curl up and hide behind his sentry, but thinking that you can't hold the first point is like having a mindset of defeatism. My thinking is, if you're building in the back thinking you can't hold the front; what happens when the enemy is on the last point... build inside your spawn? no! LOL!

But anyways enough of my rant... hope this helps!

  • easy target for spy : backstab, sap, cloak, move to the teleporter, sap, Own

  • @Zenthik He said set it up, not keep it up.

  • Because clearly you're supposed to use all of the ammo boxes in the area...

  • Missio..COWBOY UP!!

  • @Neslakim Oh, the joys of online games.

  • That works fine when you are the only engineer. Normaly there are about 2-4 and they take all the boxes for them self... so you have to wait

  • @clinton699 the idea here is that as long as you have the fire power you can work on upgrading the other stuff during the fight. unfortunately it's extremely unrealistic and should not be used as a guide post in any sense. you have to consider other engineers need metal as well, and oblivious teammates will consume ammo boxes to needlessly rocket jump/sticky jump/shoot their mini-gun. all this means that an engineer can/will only be as good as his team.

  • @97tcook okay, you're right. if you are a good engie it will last slightly longer, say... 15 to 20 seconds. the problem with that spot is a lot of things: 1) that it's very visible to the opponent, so they can easily concentrate their fire on it and damage it faster then you can repair it. 2) you can't easily see the opponent without leaving the sentry alone for a time, which compounds the problem i just mentioned. 3) you must tank your sentry with your back exposed, spies love that.

  • @Zenthik not unless your a good engie

  • @SergioSource ikr.
