RACING PIGEONS COUNTING PEANUTS

I SET A GLASS JAR WITH PEANUTS IN THE LOFT, AND THE PIGEONS COULD SEE THE PEANUTS WHICH THEY REALLY LOVE, AND THEY STARTED PECKING ON THE SIDES, TRYING TO GET A PEANUT

Someone mentioned I should get raw red skinned peanuts for my pigeons, but they don't like them! They pick them out and leave them on the floor. They are regular sized homers and I think they should be able to handle them. I put raw peanuts and raw sunflower seeds on top of their food for a treat. They love the sunflower seeds, but always leave the peanuts. Any ideas why?

the pigeons have to get used to eating peanuts.. once they do, they will do anything for a peanut... put them in and leave them until they eat them all.....after the ist time you will not have any problems.. be sure to keep the peanuts in a dry cool place, to keep them from getting rancid...if they get to smelling funny, get rid of them..

Wow, they eat the peanuts even with the brown coat on them! My pigeons won't eat the peanuts this way, they only like "naked" peanuts :). I hope they will get used to the others in time.

Man I believe you that the pigeons like peanuts, My pigeons Virtually go crazy when they see peanuts, Or when fed peanuts. They fly onto me, and try to get at them.

I never fed my pigeons with peanuts, it isn't a common practice in my area. But I'll give it a try now, I think! I like the grill you have as a floor, is it the same in the whole loft? I'd love to see an overview of the rest of the loft. Keep up the good work!
