The Tiger Claw Kung Fu Magazine Championships is the most authentic martial arts tournament dedicated to Chinese Wushu and Shaolin Kung Fu. Enthusiasts from around the nation travel to San Jose annually to attend this Championship. The tournament is a mass production of Kung Fu schools, volunteers, enthusiasts, and the Kung Fu Magazine led by Gene Ching and Gigi Oh.

This year the tournament hosted two unique divisions unlike anything in the history of Kung Fu in America. The Wild Aid Division and the SongShan Shaolin Temple Division. In the Wild Aid Division Zhang Yongbiao emerged victorious with a powerful rendition of Huojiaquan, a style attributed to Huo Yunjia, founder of Chin Woo.

However the most amazing division at the Kung Fu Championships was the Songshan Shaolin Temple division dedicated to forms taught by the Shaolin Temple community of Deng Feng Henan Province, China. As the the champion Yang Chengjun was awarded a large commemorative Chinese sword and several other gifts.
