  • That's perfect. exactly what I'm trying to do. But there's no instruction in this video. No explaination whatsoever

  • @telsonater Check out the Video Commentary there are the explonations what i am doing in the examples!

  • oh, so it's called walking jazz bassline! this is what i looking for!

i need to know, how do you know which chord progress to play? it's sounds good, but is it improvise or have scale theory?

  • @potchonk Of course its scale theorie, wich scale i use is in the diescription of each example. Most of them are in F. Its only called Jazz Bass Lines because walking bass is a part of Jazz Bass! Have fun

  • @Bassplayer1204 ah, walking bass, on second and third chorus.. ok :D

it's interesting how you start from basic chord and then explore it with scale. yeah man, my problem is i don't know jazz scale, so i can imitate it from song, but i can't improvise it, maybe just very little, but i'm not sure is it right or wrong. sometimes i think in jazz, the parent scale for melody fill (or in bass, the transition tones) is change from one chord to another (each chord is parent scale). is it true?

  • @potchonk Hey! I am also NOT a Jazz Bass player, and i am learning things by doing this workshop here myself. So your pretty much in the same situation. So maybe it will help you to check out what i am doing(explonations are with every video), and learn it with me! :-)
